More than two million state and municipal retirees who have worked hard throughout their careers, serving the public, depend on their modest pensions to support themselves and their families. And in turn, New York taxpayers depend on their public officials to fulfil their fiduciary duties and ensure that state and municipal pension funds remain fully funded.

However, some of New York’s leaders are determined to foolishly and hastily force state and municipal pension funds to divest from fossil fuels as a way, they say, to combat climate change.
